 "Easy Peasy" 2009-09-10
By Susan Cobbins (Chicago, IL)
Great purchase. Worked right out of the box and my husband didn't even need the instructions! we use it for the backyard with an inflatable movie screen and the volume is great - didn't even need to hook up extra speakers. Highly recommend, well worth the money.

 "I Love My MovieMate 55" 2009-07-14
By Don De Bo (Florida)
My Movie Mate 55 arrived about 3 weeks ago and we watched about 15 movies on it to date. Some I played right thru the machine, some thru another DVD player and some from my Satellite Dish Network. Picture was awesome from all sources. Easy to set up, adjust and control. One thing I wish were better is there is no RCA jacks for audio out when playing a DVD from the machines DVD slot but the built in speakers work well if you are not looking for Surround Sound from your main system. You can by-pass this by plugging a splitter in from the headphones jack out to your system to get Surround Sound from your main system. Another thing I wish they did was put a "Users Guide Book" with full details instead of the DVD Info Disk which is best read from ADOBE Reader. Other than that, this is an AWESOME Machine for home movies. Portable, Packaged Excellant for delivery and bright clear picture makes this a Great Buy.

 "Very practical and affordable" 2009-07-02

I purchased this item for a client to be used in a kids'bunkroom, using it with the Epson Duet screen. Works great! Will also be ordering another one for a client for outdoor "movie night" Have to be careful as to placement in room though and consider distance to screen and where to place the projector. Client loves it. Wasn't too pleased with Amazon's delivery. I was supposed to have gotten free 2 day Prime shipping, but didn't. I wound up paying for the 2 day shipping and it took longer than 2 days. Emailed Amazon about this, first response was not helpful. Emailed again with all information and there was no reply. A little disappointed in customer service.

"Portable, Easy to Use, Quality Picture and Color" 2009-06-16
By Jennifer (MA)
I purchased this machine for the sole use of using it outside for "drive in" movie nights. So far I've used it for so much more. Yes, we have had one night without rain and were able to use it. We had a backyard of very happy teenagers watching scary movies until the wee hours of the morning. Then, we played Wii on it and just for giggles, I hooked it up to my laptop to see what viewing pleasure could be found on that. AMAZING. This is the EASIEST projector I have ever used. The sound quality is incredible. Picture is terrific and the FUN is absolutely priceless. I also purchased a blow up screen for outdoor use and a pull down screen for inside making it a very versatile item. My entire family is enjoying this projector. I've only had this item for a few weeks, but so far everything about it is perfect! For me, this is best item I have purchased in a very long time.

"Step up? NO! Step down from Moviemate 30s" 2009-06-12
By J. Stewart (USA)
This unit is being tauted as the next step up from the Moviemate 30 and has a brighter bulb! BIG DEAL. The Moviemate 30 had: Horizontal and Vertical Lens Shift - The 55 does not! This is almost impossible to even line it up on a wall let along the 80 inch screen! The so called 5.1 dts virtual surround sound is PATHETIC compared to the Moviemate 30's 2 10 watt stereo speakers. This unit has 8 watt speakers and arent even Jensen like the older 30s model! The older model also had OPTICAL zoom, this one has DIGITAL! LAst but not least for a slap in the face, the older model had an output for a subwoofer - this DOESNT - just an output for amplifier! ARGH! The only thing they did to this was make it black and add a handle. VERY DISAPOINTED EPSON as I was gonna send this back and get the 72 but will wait for that ones price to drop further. My advice - IF you can find the Epson Moviemate 30s GET THAT ONE!
